RG Freight Recruitment are working on behalf of a well known freight forwarding client to find a Freight Forwarder to work in their Dartford office

This client is one of the world's largest independent forwarders specialising in providing the oil and gas sector with best in class service.

By offering global forwarding, project logistics, material management and consultancy services, they are able to offer genuinely bespoke service to each of their many clients.

The team in Dartford is now expanding and are looking to bring on an experienced freight forwarder with knowledge of sea and air exports. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing their own accounts and taking shipments from start to finish. This is pressured role and requires the individual to operate autonomously as well as part of of the team.


  • Planning the most appropriate route for shipments, taking into account the nature of the goods, cost, transit time, and security

  • Process all export requests from client or line manager

  • Ensure ongoing communication with client throughout each export requirement

  • Monitor ‘door to door’ exports travel until successful delivery is made within the timeline required.

  • Produce quotes when required, ensuring the best solution/options are provided to the client

  • Provide support to colleagues in team to ensure timely close out of all jobs

  • Process customs declarations through ASM Sequoia software in accordance with instructions and HMRC compliance

  • Maintain a thorough understanding of HM Revenue & Customs regulations

  • Adhere to destination specific documentation requirements

The Person

  • Good working knowledge of air and sea exports

  • Proficient and able to complete Export Customs Entries

  • Experience completing, rating and routing AWB’s

  • Ability to work as part of a team

  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines

  • Conscientious and flexible
